She sang at Georgia Music Hall of Fame Awards when she was ten years old. She had many other public performances as a child, including a stint on Cartoon Network.
She made her acting debut on I'm in the Band at age 15 in 2009.
She began working for The Washington Post in 1938, shortly after graduating from the University of Chicago. Following the death of her publisher husband, she assumed control of the Post (which had previously been owned by her own father, Eugene Meyer).
In May 2013 he was convicted of crimes against humanity, including widespread massacres, rape, torture, and acts of genocide against the indigenous population, but the verdict was quickly overturned by the Constitutional Court of Guatemala.
